Presentation of the Belgian media landscape and focus on the success of podcasts – Workshop and debate with Wouter Van Driessche (Mediahuis) and François Bailly (L’Echo)
For the past three years, C² has got into the good habit of organising an annual workshop dedicated to the Belgian media landscape. The objective is to help Belgian communicators to get a better view on the media active in Belgium, especially those on the other side of the linguistic border. What are the different press groups in the North and the South? What are the specificities of each market? What are the audience and circulation figures etc.?
This year’s workshop will be enriched by a debate on the success of podcasts, a format that is attracting more and more media groups and listeners. After the workshop led by Mathieu Van Overstraeten (akkanto) and Haroun Fenaux (Proximus), two journalists who are at the heart of the podcast revolution will be given the floor: Wouter Van Driessche, who launched dSAudio, the podcast of De Standaard, three years ago and who is now developing a branded podcast offer for the Mediahuis group, and François Bailly, the editor-in-chief of L’Echo, who will launch a brand new podcast in a few days’ time, the details of which he will reveal to us.
